Interior Design Project of a Duplex Apartment – 1,740 ft² + 220 ft² Terrace

TOTAL BLACK by DUMSKAYA DESIGN (Miami, Florida, USA) is a bold, elegant, and ultra-modern interior where deep black tones are enhanced by expressive textures and dramatic lighting.
Design highlights:
Color palette: Rich black and varying shades of gray are used on walls, ceilings, and furniture. The mix of textures and gradients adds depth and movement to the space.Furniture & finishes: Clean-lined silhouettes crafted from premium materials—leather, suede, glossy plastic, and matte metal. The contrast between gloss and matte surfaces creates striking visual interest.Lighting: Recessed fixtures, soft ambient lighting, and statement lamps emphasize architectural geometry. Metallic accents in gold and bronze bring warmth and a luxurious touch.Textures & accents: Velvet, wool, glass, and metal prevent monotony and enrich the sensory experience. Mirror surfaces amplify light and visually expand the space.Décor & accessories: Minimalist black objects—vases, abstract art, sculptural forms—create a cohesive look. Live greenery in dark planters brings a refreshing contrast and balances the intensity of black.Functionality:TOTAL BLACK emphasizes clean lines and proportions, resulting in a stylish, comfortable, and balanced environment.
This project by DUMSKAYA DESIGN showcases how black becomes a symbol of luxury and contemporary sophistication. The studio completed the full project cycle: concept development, architectural support, custom-made furniture production, full renovation, sourcing and furnishing, window treatments, and décor.
